Parable of the Lamp

Do you bring in a lamp to put it under a bowl or a bed? Instead, don't you put it on its stand? I am foolish. I have not understood this parable. Anyway, now I see a meaning of it. When Jesus came, he promised us the gift of the Holy Spirit.
By the power of this Spirit, we can see ourselves through and through. We tend to look to live by rules and laws. However, now we shed all this and live by the Spirit. We can now see much deeper into ourselves. We can convict ourselves of sin. We are called to be special in the eyes of God. To be given the place as his own!
What this parable teaches me is to see myself inside-out. To recognize my humanness and fleshness. To clean myself totally and wholly and offer myself to God.
